When most people think of tabletop fountains their mind tends to wander to the classic plastic model that gets plugged into an outlet in the wall and gently gurgles water all day long, but in reality these models are only a fraction of the options available to people these days. Indoor fountains have come a long way since their original inception and as a result the various types of models have evolved over time into some interesting variants to attract widely divergent audiences.

The classic tabletop fountains are electric fountains that have a plastic, resin or stone multi-layered bowl filled with little rocks or glass fish tank beads, and gets its power from being plugged into the wall. Some other simple fountains can be battery operated in order to place the fountain somewhere away from an outlet or to avoid having unsightly cords dangling behind the fountain. A slightly more expensive model are bamboo flute fountains that can really add an extra bit of class to the room. Bell shaped fountains are another classy evolution of the original model consisting of a small copper cup with water running over it to gently splash onto the rocks below. Difficult to explain in writing, but wonderful to see in person.

There are also countless individual artistic variations on the original design that really allow every individual in the nation to find their own version to suit their tastes and perk up their room. Choosing between the various models can be difficult sometimes, but so long as you remember to check how loud the pump is and how often it leaks or bubbles over it should be perfectly fine, and always makes an excellent investment.
